EL REFUGIO RANCH

Is a collection of properties that total more than 1,300 acres and is nestled in the center of the Gaviota Coast. El Refugio Ranch is our flagship property and where it all started.

Avocados on Berms

One method we commonly use when developing new groves is planting our trees on raised beds or berms. This helps with drainage for the tree as well as allows the roots to get a head start in the early years of life.

Spring Pruning

In an effort to minimize the effects of the natural alternate bearing cycle of avocados we use pruning as a tool to both maintain a uniform height in addition to managing our bud wood for the next season.
